Homelessness is a problem that unfortunately affects every community. But our government believes that one homeless Canadian is too many, and we are committed to helping those in need. That’s why we are making bold changes to prevent and reduce homelessness.

Reaching Home is part of our government’s National Housing Strategy, which over 10 years will see 100,000 new housing units built, and 300,000 housing units repaired, to help reduce chronic homelessness by 50% by 2027-2028. Our plan will promote diverse communities, and will build housing that is sustainable, accessible, mixed-income, and mixed-use.

The National Housing Strategy is part of the Government of Canada’s plan to build a more equal Canada for all, including the most vulnerable, and Reaching Home is an integral part of this strategy.
