Over the weekend I had the pleasure of officially facilitating the transfer of this fast rescue craft to the Maritimes branch of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary here in Dartmouth, NS.

The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary Maritimes (CCGA-M) is a nonprofit organization and a registered charity made up of just over 800 volunteer members and nearly 500 privately-owned vessels throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Iles de la Madeleine.

The CCGA-M has been in existence since 1978 and responds to an average of 25% of all maritime search and rescue incidents in the Maritime Provinces.

The donation of this vessel is the fulfillment of a commitment made by Minister Hunter Tootoo and the Government of Canada to support the men and women of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in their important work.
