I’m the only Atlantic Canadian member of the Standing Committee of Environment and Sustainable Development.

Whenever I can bring up issues affecting Atlantic Canada at Committee, I do!

In our Committee’s last report we recommended that the Government of Canada partner with provincial, municipal, territorial or other governments to protect terrestrial and marine areas.

I believe in protecting the Blue Mountain Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness area. And I firmly believe that if all levels of government work together, we can ensure its protection.

This week, I had the opportunity to question the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, about partnering with the municipality on the Blue Mountain Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area.
