Your input is urgently required on the proposed federal riding boundaries for Dartmouth—Cole Harbour!
As you may have heard, the Electoral Boundaries Commission is proposing major changes to our riding’s boundaries, such as removing much of Dartmouth and all of the Burnside Industrial Park from Dartmouth—Cole Harbour and lumping it into Bedford and Sackville.
The Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Nova Scotia is non-partisan and independent from the federal government. Part of their consultation is to ensure that the boundaries reflect communities of identity—and I absolutely agree. That’s why I believe your feedback is so crucial to this process.
Their proposal makes multiple major changes, such as removing the following neighbourhoods that currently identify as part of Dartmouth—Cole Harbour, including:
– Craigburn Dr area
– Lake Charles area
– Shubie Park area
– (Port Wallace) Breeze Dr, Montebello, Keystone, Avenue du Portage, and Unia Estates areas
– Westphal area
– Tam O’Shanter Ridge area
– Caledonia area
– Roleika Dr area
– Lake Micmac area
– Braemar Dr area
– Wallace Heights area
– Burnside Industrial Park
You can learn more about the full proposal by visiting the Electoral Boundaries Commission’s website.
