While we’re working to build more affordable housing for those who need it the most, we’re also helping to repair and revitalize existing affordable housing units across the province.
Today, the Government of Canada and the Government of Nova Scotia announced more than $13 million in investments through the Community Housing Infrastructure and Repair Program to help community housing organizations preserve, repair, and renew existing homes.
We know that this investment will be life-changing for so many Nova Scotians.
Non-profit organizations are working hard across Nova Scotia to provide safe places for folks to live, and our Government is pleased to work with them and support their efforts.
More than $2.5 million of this funding will be allocated to help the Dartmouth Non-profit Housing Society make substantial capital repairs to 57 housing units—an excellent example of how this funding will be used.
That means nearly 60 families will have a better, safer place to live in Dartmouth—Cole Harbour.
