Happy Natal Day weekend, Dartmouth—Cole Harbour!
There are SO many great events taking place in our community to celebrate Natal Day this year.
Over the weekend, there are some incredible showcases of local talent and musical performances happening. From Friday ‘til Sunday, there are some new performances taking place in Downtown Dartmouth between the Tunes by the Tracks at Alderney Plaza on Friday at noon, and there is also the Dartmouth Summer Sunshine Series ongoing at Ferry Terminal Park.
Admission is FREE, so head outside to enjoy the tunes and sunny weather!
On Sunday, the 17th Annual ANSMA “Freedom Festival” Natal Day Concert is taking place from 2-9:30pm on Sunday at the Dartmouth Waterfront, followed by the “Freedom Festival” Pyro Show at 9:30pm at the Dartmouth Wharf!!!
Don’t forget! The Busker Festival is back, from August 2 to August 7! Dartmouth has its own stage at Alderney Landing, with amazing performers coming from all over! Check out the full schedule and performers here: https://www.buskers.ca/2023-festival.html
The East Coast Amusements midway will be on at Alderney Landing as well (weather permitting)! Keep your eye out!
And, of course – the Natal Day Parade is happening again this year, on Monday, August 7th starting at 10am. The parade starts in Halifax and crosses the Macdonald bridge ending in Dartmouth, at Sullivan’s Pond.
On Sunday morning, Halifax Harbour Bridges MACPASS Miles (registration is required) will be starting at 9am, and the Halifax Harbour Bridges Annual Macdonald Bridge Walk will follow from 2-4pm. What a GORGEOUS way to see our city – the views will be fantastic!
There’s still MORE! The Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races (registration required) will be held on Monday morning, starting at 8:15am. The races will start and finish near Christ Church on Ochterloney Street. Did YOU know that this event is one of the oldest road races in North America?
Weather permitting, there will be TWO opportunities to take in some awesome fireworks displays – the Halifax-Dartmouth Natal Day Harbour Fireworks on Saturday night at 10pm, and there will also be Natal Day Fireworks happening at Lake Banook (on Prince Albert Road) Monday at 9:30pm.
