Terry Fox’s legacy is one of courage, hope, and the belief that we can all make a difference.
As too many of us already know, almost every one of us will be touched by cancer, whether personally or through someone we love. Terry knew that pain. But he also believed in something bigger, that through research, compassion, and determination, we could change the story for others.
That’s why I’m so proud that Budget 2025 delivers $80 million over four years to the Terry Fox Research Institute, supporting their incredible work in cancer research so more Canadians will have access to modern treatments they need to thrive.
Terry’s Marathon of Hope began 45 years ago. His courage, his run, and his dream continue to inspire and drive progress across Canada. Every breakthrough in cancer research, every family finding hope, and every life touched are part of his legacy.
We honour him best by continuing the journey he began.
