The First Thing We did as a Re-Elected Government was to Cut Taxes for Nearly 20 Million Middle-Class Canadians

Shortly after I was first elected, our government cut taxes for Canada’s middle class. And we spent four years working to make life more affordable for Canadians. From the Canada Child Benefit to the Canada Worker’s Benefit—these measures are making it easier for many families.

But despite these measures, we know that there are many Canadians who are still struggling to make ends meet. That’s why the first thing we did as a re-elected government was to cut taxes for nearly 20 million middle-class Canadians. And we’ve made it so that over 1 million Canadians won’t have to pay federal income tax at all.
