We announced improvements to the Canada Emergency Response Benefit- a taxable benefit of $2,000 every 4 weeks for up to 4 months for eligible workers who have lost their income due to COVID-19.

To help more Canadians benefit from the CERB, we’ve expanded the eligibility to allow individuals to earn up to $1,000 a month while collecting the CERB.

And we’re extending the CERB to workers who have exhausted their Employment Insurance regular benefits between December 29, 2019 and October 3, 2020; and are unable to find a job or return to work because of COVID-19.

Don’t forget: you cannot voluntarily quit your job and qualify for Benefits. You may be asked to provide additional documentation to verify your eligibility at a future date.
