I’ll Remember Dartmouth’s Sadie Graham Fondly, and I Expect Many in Dartmouth-Cole Harbour Will As Well

I just heard the news that Dartmouth’s Sadie Graham, has passed away at the age of 107. She was such a wonderful lady, and my heart goes out to her family and loved ones.

She was one of the last known survivors of the Halifax Explosion. When she was just 5, her father who was working on the waterfront at the time, rushed home to bring Sadie and her brother to safety.

And then in 1961, her husband was paralyzed in a car accident. Sadie went back to work to provide for her family, raising 8 children, while caring for her husband. Incredible.
