On this Sickle Cell Awareness Day, I want to recognize the incredible organizations who are working so hard to raise awareness and to support individuals with sickle cell and their families.
Sickle Cell Disease is one of the most predominant genetic diseases in the world-with about 6,000 Canadians living with it.
When I sponsored Senator Jane Cordy’s Bill S-211 in the House of Commons, I learned more about this genetic disease and had the opportunity to meet those who are living with it. I look forward to continuing to work with all of you to raise awareness, and to support those who suffer.
You can learn more about Sickle Cell Disease by visiting the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Canada website.
