We’ve been working to support folks through the COVID-19 pandemic. And as we move forward towards reopening and recovery, we’re introducing new benefits and greater flexibility to help you and your family. We want to make sure you’re able to put your health and safety first.
Minister Freeland and Minister Qualtrough just announced a 4-week extension to the CERB to help folks as we transition to the next step of our recovery plan!
This new recovery plan will include more flexible eligibility for EI and three temporary income benefits:

- The Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit for workers sick with COVID-19 or required to self-isolate. This benefit will provide $500 per week, for up to 2 weeks, to those eligible.
- The Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit for caregivers supporting a child or dependent. This benefit will provide $500 per week, for up to 26 weeks, to those eligible.
