Folks, we’re in for a tough winter, but better days are coming. We have a plan to get through this pandemic, and to rebuild Canada’s economy once the virus is beaten.

The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance just tabled our Government’s Fall Economic Statement. I encourage you to have a look for yourself:

We will continue investing in our emergency health response to support folks through this pandemic, including a new Long-term Care Fund to support our most vulnerable. And we’ll make sure every Canadian will have access to an effective vaccine, for free one it’s ready! We’ll keep supporting businesses and families with numerous support measures.

Once the virus is under control and the economy is ready for new growth we will deliver a targeted stimulus plan to jumpstart the economy. We’ll lay the groundwork for a Canada-wide childcare system, we’ll invest in training support for those hardest hit, and we’ll put climate action at the centre of our plan to create one million jobs!

I want you to know that we will do whatever it takes. We will invest in every helpful and necessary public health measure, while supporting Canadian families and businesses in smart and effective ways.
