Today I had the pleasure of representing the Government of Canada and making a great announcement!
I’m so proud that Dartmouth-Cole Harbour includes a vibrant francophonie community. In fact, right across Nova Scotia you’ll always find Acadian communities and heritage worth celebrating and worth supporting.
I announced funding of over $1.8 million dollars over five years for FANE’s 2017-2022 programming.
This funding will help FANE with their ‘plan d’action communautaire’ and ensure that they continue their outreach efforts to increase the availability of French-language services in our province.
Bien entendu, ce financement appuiera aussi les efforts de représentation des Acadiens et des francophones de la Nouvelle-Écosse auprès des instances francophones régionales et nationales.
Grâce à ce montant, attribué par l’entremise du programme Développement des communautés de langue officiell, FANE will be able to move forward with much-needed projects like its website and the Sentier Acadie historique, qui vient tout juste d’être lancée.
