Happy to announce a $2.1 million investment through the Government of Canada’s Public Transit Infrastructure Fund to help upgrade the Halifax and Alderney Landing Ferry Terminal pontoons, and help purchase 8 brand-new buses!
These projects will improve Halifax Transit passenger experience and increase operational efficiency for a more sustainable transit system!
MLA Brendan Maguire represented the Government of Nova Scotia, and Sam Austin – Councillor Dartmouth Centre attended on behalf of the Halifax Regional Municipality – together we announced $5.6 million in joint federal-municipal funding for this project!
As a former municipal councillor, I understand the importance of investing in public transit infrastructure. Investing in good infrastructure matters. That’s why the Government of Canada will invest more than $180 billion over 12 years in infrastructure projects across Canada.
Thank you to MLAs Claudia Chender MLA & Susan Leblanc for Dartmouth North for joining us!
