My “office” looks a bit different these days! As businesses across Canada are finding ways to continue working within the constraints of a global pandemic (Zoom meetings anyone?), Parliament is no different!

We’ve made history with a hybrid format in the House of Commons. A small group of Members are meeting in the Chamber, in person- while others (like me here in Nova Scotia) are joining in virtually. All at once!

As a Member of the Standing Committee on Health, we’ve met regularly throughout the pandemic, virtually. It’s a different dynamic, but it’s allowed us to continue our work, while keeping ourselves and the numerous staff that support the Committee safe.

I know these are strange times for almost everyone. But we must do what we can to keep our workplaces, and each other, safe!

As workplaces reopen, please remember that we need to continue practicing physical distancing, washing our hands, and clean commonly-used surfaces. Going to a place where you may not be able to physically distance yourself from others? You should consider wearing a non-medical mask.
