Back to school should be an exciting time, not stressful! I know that as we gradually and safely restart our economy, parents should be able to return to work and trust that their children are learning in a healthy environment. Teachers and school staff deserve to work in an environment that can keep them safe during these uncertain times.
Although education is a provincial jurisdiction, we want to work together to make sure that the provinces and territories have what they need to keep everyone safe!
That’s why we’re delivering up to $47.88 million to Nova Scotia through the the new Safe Return to Class Fund.
This funding is flexible, so provinces, and ultimately schools, can use it for what they need most, from hand sanitizer to remote learning. For example, it can be used to make sure that schools have proper ventilation systems, and PPE on hand to keep kids, teachers, and staff safe at school!
