After winning the prestigious Prince of Wales Youth Leadership Award for her incredible volunteerism in her community of Dartmouth North, Cheyenne Hardy decided to use the award money to make a difference a world away.
This year Cheyenne traveled to Kenya to spend a few weeks at a local school, teaching children English, and doing what she could to improve the lives of the children living in the community. Cheyenne used her award money to buy supplies for the school, for new student uniforms and to help other kids afford to attend.
This week I proudly hand delivered a letter (and some photos) Cheyenne wrote to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Youth in Dartmouth-Cole Harbour are doing incredible things, and I couldn’t be prouder of Cheyenne Hardy for all she is doing to make a difference at home and abroad. Way to go Cheyenne!
