During the first ‘Daughters of the Vote’, in March 2017, there were more women occupying seats in Parliament than there have been elected in the entire history of Confederation!
Listening to the speeches in the House of Commons was an extremely empowering and emotional experience.
When more women participate in politics and civic life, it helps to create what will essentially be a fairer democracy – one where all Canadians – regardless of gender – have an equal and fair chance at success.
Minister Maryam Monsef announced the Government of Canada’s investment to Equal Voice for the next cohort of the Daughters of the Vote. This project offers a unique opportunity for young women who want to enter our political arenas and make a difference.
The application process for the 2019 cohort is now open and applicants have until November 22nd, 2018 to apply.
Don’t miss this incredible opportunity!
Applicants are accepted online at: http://www.daughtersofthevote.ca/.
