Build more homes.
When we launched the National Housing Strategy in 2017, the federal government hadn’t been engaging in affordable housing for decades.
Since then, there are families and individuals in Dartmouth—Cole Harbour who are living in homes built with support delivered by our government—and a lot more are underway.
Along with providing funding to build homes, we also provide support directly to the province for rent supplements like the Canada-Nova Scotia Targeted Housing Benefit, and funding to repair public housing and preserve it for future generations.
This is good progress but it’s not enough.
We have to keep working together to build and preserve more affordable homes until everyone has a safe place to call home.
