Fantastic meetings on the Hill today. I started my day off with the Canadian Lung Association, discussing many important topics, one being youth vaping. We all need to do everything we can to prevent kids from vaping. Young people and those who do not use tobacco products should absolutely not vape because it is not harmless.
I also met with representatives from MS Canada, including those impacted by Multiple Sclerosis. Did you know that Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world? More than 90,000 Canadians are living with this disease. We discussed the importance of our Government’s commitment to the Canada Disability Benefit, and the importance of funding research opportunities to prevent MS.
I also had a great meeting with Unifor Canada National Staff and Unifor Marine Workers (MWF)local 1’s leadership team. It’s always great to meet with shipbuilders from home who are building the Royal Canadian Navy’s future fleet.
We are all so proud of what you do!
