What an incredible day. So much going on this weekend, trying to do everything!
Started my Saturday off at the Michael Wallace Spring Fair where they were donating the proceeds from the door to the family of their beloved custodian who is fighting cancer. They raised over 1100.00 and will continue tomorrow with another event for Mr. Greenfield.
Next I was off to the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum to see a sheep get sheered. I love this place, and checked out the blacksmith shop, the main barn and the gardens.
Today was also the Parade and Festival to honour Veterans and those who Served. This was the 11th year for this event and it grows each year. Many thanks to the Main Street shops and the Villiage on Main organization for once again working so hard to show respect for Veterans and those who serve or have served. I was pleased to have been asked to say a few words along with MLA Tim Halman (his birthday!) and Councillors Tony Manciniand David Andrew Hendsbee.
Thanks as well, individually to Jim Knox and Graziella Grbac for always working so hard on this event.
And if that didn’t make the day busy enough, Anne Fisher Gloria MccluskeyTony, Tim, Susan, Claudia and several hundred Dartmouthians attended the Dartmouth General Lobster Dinner and Auction. It was so fun and I had the chance to chat with so many great folks. And lots of money was raised. Home now to watch a bit of the playoffs and get ready for Switched and the Somme Branch D Day parade and ceremony tomorrow along with the great FCM conference in the evening.
Happy Saturday night friends!
