When I’m not working, spending time with family & friends, or out in the community, I love repairing and saving vintage speakers and audio equipment from landfills. Giving them new life!
So many projects, but so little time. My turntables and amplifier are from the 1970s, my speakers are from the 1980s and 90s… and of course my records are all vintage…you know, like me!
It’s so gratifying to get in there with a q-tip and clean old circuit boards, and then shine up these incredibly well-made old units! Whether it’s a repair or cosmetic work, I love seeing and hearing this beautiful equipment come back to life.
Did you know that it’s getting harder and harder to repair modern equipment? Appliances? Cars too?
My Liberal colleague MP Bryan May’s Bill C-272 is all about giving Canadians the right to repair.
We should be able to diagnose, fix and repair faulty modern equipment, but in many cases technological protection measures get in the way of these repairs. This legislation targets this issue! Love it!!!
Are you also into recycling, repairing, reusing, or upcycling? I’d love to hear about it!
