The Prime Minister just announced new Parliamentary Secretary positions.
I am truly honoured to let you know that I’ve been appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Associate Minister of Health.
I am delighted to work alongside Minister Ya’ara Saks and Minister Mark Holland to not only continue delivering historic healthcare funding to improve mental health services and substance abuse care, but to ensure that all Canadians have access to the good quality care they need when they need it.
Like Minister Saks, I firmly believe that mental health access must be a full, equal and seamless part of our universal public health care system.
I recognize that the spectrum of substance abuse is complex and the challenges that many Canadians face are significant. You can be assured that I take this role seriously, and I will continue to advocate to ensure that we look at all policies through a sensible and compassionate lens.
