We’re making Downtown Dartmouth even brighter!

Over the weekend I announced $156,270 for three great projects with the Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission that add to the vibrancy of Downtown Dartmouth all year round.

The Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission works hard to ensure our downtown is vibrant and supported and I am so pleased to help make their vision to enhance our community a reality.

Over the summer, this funding supported the Pull-up on Portland Street Market and performance event promoting BIPOC vendors and performers.

The funding we delivered helped revitalize Alderney Plaza, ensuring it’s accessible, beautiful, and a great space for our community to gather. Love the idea of folks gathering there year-round, accessing free wi-fi, and enjoying each other’s company in a bright and comfortable space. Loved gathering there with folks from our community for Saturday’s announcement—complete with Revana Pizza!

As the days are getting shorter and colder, Downtown Dartmouth will be illuminated with light.

This funding is helping Downtown Dartmouth present “Light up Downtown Dartmouth”, a projection light show, on Old City Hall, featuring the work of local artists, such as Mi’kmaq artist Alan Syliboy.

Over the holiday season, this funding will help upgrade the holiday décor in Downtown Dartmouth with energy efficient, warm and bright LED Lamppost decorations, bright, illuminated snowflakes, and a new tree-topper for the Dartmouth Christmas Tree!

Huge thanks to the Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission for all they do to support our community!!
