We have some of the world’s most incredible companies right here in Dartmouth—Cole Harbour—companies Global Spatial Technology Solutions (GSTS).
This week I announced a repayable contribution of $500,000, through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, to help GSTS grow, provide more jobs, and accelerate the rollout of their incredible technology, OCIANA.
OCIANA is an incredible platform, producing highly accurate, AI-generated intel to assist with everything from streamlining shipping routes, marine mammal detection, fuel consumption forecasts, to maritime situational awareness (and so much more).
Just imagine, OCIANA’s technology can help alert authorities to the presence of endangered right whales passing through a shipping route. Can help alert authorities to ships performing illegal ballast water dumps. Can better predict when a vessel will arrive to port. This is just the tip of the iceberg. OCIANA is brilliant.
This funding will also help GSTS establish its first two systems at the ports of Halifax and New York, digitally connecting the two maritime cities.
The ocean technology sector is hot in Dartmouth—Cole Harbour and I can’t wait to see how GSTS continues to grow their brilliant technology!
