It’s so good to see more investment in Dartmouth—Cole Harbour, and more inclusive community spaces for everyone to enjoy! Today, we celebrated the Grand Opening of the brand-new, accessible, Kiwanis Grahams Grove Community Building.

I delivered $73,579 through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) to the Kiwanis Club of Dartmouth Charitable Foundation for a public accessible outdoor seating area at this new incredible building. The project included the purchase and installation of park benches, accessible picnic tables, illuminated signage, and other improvements.

Our government is investing and supporting the creation of this beautiful and accessible outdoor sitting area in Dartmouth, so that people of all ages and abilities can truly enjoy spending time at the park with friends, family, and neighbours.

I can tell you first-hand, that outdoor spaces like Grahams Grove Park hold a special place in the hearts of generations of Dartmouth-area families and residents. Whether you’ve launched your canoe here, took part in rec programming, enjoyed ice cream in the summer, or picked out the perfect Christmas tree in winter—spaces like this help strengthen our community.

Huge thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Dartmouth and to the Halifax Regional Municipality for their leadership in bringing this building and community space to fruition.
