These words are strong, yet they still do not adequately describe the Ukrainian people. They do not adequately describe the bravery shown against the brutal aggressor they face.
Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine is an assault against the rules-based order, on a deep global scale.
I had the honour of attending the Address to Parliament by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, and I will never forget the passion and strength in his voice, and his gratitude to the people of Canada for our support.
In the Prime Minister’s speech he said to President Zelenskyy, “you and the Ukrainian people are holding the rules-based order in the balance. You are on the front lines. Not just of the fight for Ukraine. But the fight for the kind of future we are all going to be living in.”
When I read through my emails from constituents in Dartmouth—Cole Harbour, or drive through the city and see all of the Ukrainian flags proudly flying, our support for the people of Ukraine and for their victory is clear. Canada stands by Ukraine.
