Great to have Minister Lawrence MacAulay in Dartmouth today to announce important funding for Veteran mental health programming in Nova Scotia!!
The Minister announced $725,000 to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia to support their “Landing Strong” program. It’s a three-month, intensive day-treatment program for Veterans and first-responders with PTSD. The program will allow more Veterans to stay in Nova Scotia to receive the mental health treatment that they need. Starr Cunningham was on hand to speak to the importance of this program for Veterans in Nova Scotia.
He also highlighted a $48,000 investment to the Canadian Women’s Wellness Initiative, so they can provide stress-reduction training to Veterans and their families.
Our Government is proud to partner with organizations like the Canadian Women’s Wellness Initiative, the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia and VETS Canada. Our Government firmly believes in the work they are doing. It’s by developing strong partnerships with stakeholders working hard on the ground, that we can work to make sure that no Veteran slips through the cracks.
