We must do more to address homelessness in Canada. Homelessness is a challenge in all regions of our country. Each year, nearly 140,000 people continue to use emergency shelters across Canada.
We must find long-term solutions which help people exit homelessness and establish stable housing.
We’re lucky to have so many organizations that help families and individuals here in Dartmouth-Cole Harbour. Organizations which help folks by giving them hope, dignity and a chance for a fresh start.
We are seeing some progress in preventing and reducing homelessness. But we need to find solutions that work for the long-term.
Now’s the time for innovative solutions to the depth and breadth of homelessness issues across the country- particularly among Indigenous Canadians, youth, women fleeing violence and our Veterans.
Are you in? Do you want to make a difference?
