March 12, 2025

To mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, the Prime Minister announced the Government’s intention to award Coronation Medals to those who have made significant contributions to the country, province, territory, region, or community, or have achieved something abroad that brings benefit or honour to Canada.

Here in Dartmouth—Cole Harbour, we asked members of our community to nominate unsung heroes for this prestigious medal—individuals who may not always receive the recognition they truly deserve for their ongoing support of others.

These are the volunteers who always show up, help our community, and ask for nothing in return.

They are the people who are constantly doing meaningful work for others, making our community stronger, better, and more connected.

We received many remarkable submissions for the King Charles III Coronation Medal, and for many of these recipients, this will be their first national recognition—and they are all so deserving.

Supporting our communities through volunteering and leadership is essential. It is through acts of service that we build stronger bonds, deeper connections, and a more resilient nation.

Our shared sense of purpose as Canadians is strengthened when we honour those who distinguish themselves through their talents, generosity, and commitment to their communities and our country.
