During National Volunteer Week I thought about all of the incredible volunteers we have in Dartmouth-Cole Harbour. Around 13 million Canadians volunteered around 2 billion hours of their time across Canada last year with charities / non-profit organizations.

Although many Dartmouth-Cole Harbour volunteers have won awards, there are many more that have not. Our incredible volunteers work hard without expecting anything in return. However, recognizing the efforts of deservingvolunteers is not only the right thing to do; it can help inspire others to do the same!

If you know a volunteer, young person, business, or not-for-profit organization that is making a difference in your community, you can show your appreciation by nominating them for Canada’s Volunteer Awards today! Not only will these amazing individuals be recognized for their hard work, but regional-recipients will also receive a $5,000 grant to donate to a not-for-profit organization, and the national award recipient will receive a $10,000 grant!

Simply put, millions of Canadians continue to serve their communities, and this is just one way that you can show your appreciation for the incredible volunteers in your life.
