It’s that time of the year again! You can start to feel the excitement from students preparing to go back to school, or entering their 1st year at university or college—and you can feel the excitement from their parents too

We know that when students have the support they need, they’ll have a real opportunity to succeed. That’s why we’re making higher education more affordable and more accessible for all Canadians by:

  • Increasing Canada Student Grants for low and middle income families and part-time students by 50%
  • Introducing a six-month, interest free, grace period for student loans
  • Lowering the interest rates on Canada Student Loans and Canada Apprentice Loans – saving the average borrower about $2,000 over the lifetime of their loan
  • Helping about 64,000 adult learners go back to school by offering grants under the Skills Boost initiative.
