Mayor Mike Savage announced that he won’t be seeking re-election

After more than a decade as our Mayor, Mike Savage just announced that he won’t be seeking re-election.

I want to take a moment to send a big thank you to my good friend Mayor Mike Savage for his years of public service.

Back when I was a Municipal Councillor I had the privilege of serving with him as Deputy Mayor, and I always appreciated how open and accessible he was.

I can tell you that Mike is someone who deeply cares about people. And regardless of the challenge or issue, he’s worked hard to advocate for folks across HRM.

But, if there’s one thing I know about Mike, it’s that he won’t be taking a break.
