Sunsel uses cutting-edge technology to help with innovative R&D and commercialization for companies. They had many employees on-hand, and it was great to have a chance to meet some of them and hear more about the important work they do.
Minister Duclos highlighted our Government’s improvements to EI. He explained that when we cut the waiting period for EI benefits to 1 week, the change resulted in an estimated additional $650 million a year for Canadians who needed it!
It’s important to note that the waiting period reduction applies to all types of EI benefits:
Sickness, maternity, parental, compassionate care, Family Caregiver Benefits, and seasonal.
We know that EI needs to be flexible, so it helps folks who need it most.
