An incredible loss.

Dartmouth—Cole Harbour firefighter, Capt. Billy Marr passed away from work-related cancer.

My thoughts are with Capt. Billy Marr’s loved ones and colleagues.

Firefighters are truly selfless.

We need to do everything we can to show them the respect and care they need and deserve. Especially when faced with injuries like presumptive cancers caused by the many toxic chemicals they’re exposed to on the job

Billy shared his personal story and alongside his colleagues, advocated for expanded coverage so firefighters in Nova Scotia would have access to compensation for a wider variety of cancers.

Billy leaves a legacy that will positively impact firefighters for years to come.
