How fitting that the National Peacekeepers’ Day Ceremony took place at Dartmouth’s World Peace Pavilion.
The Pavilion stands for equality and unity. The structure looks out onto the Harbour, and out to the world. It’s a place for us to reflect and think about the possibilities for peace internationally.
But as we reflect on those possibilities it’s important that we remember our Veterans and the women and men of the Canadian Armed Forces who have served to support peace efforts around the world.
On National Peacekeepers’ Day we honour and express our gratitude for peacekeepers like Craig Blake who showed immense compassion and courage to restore peace and security in areas devastated by conflict.
