I’m currently thinking about National Volunteer Week (happening now!) and, as I do, I feel so proud of all the great volunteers hard at work in Dartmouth – Cole Harbour. This is your week to be celebrated and recognized for your desire to make this area a better place, and I truly hope you enjoy it!
Volunteering is a great act of service, and it bestows a sense of purpose and satisfaction, as well as helping to connect us to the people we share a community with. Volunteering can also be tough and tedious at times, so I hope that all our volunteers, near and far, know their work does not go unnoticed.
This year more than ever, during our #Canada150 celebrations, I encourage everyone in our wonderful community to recognize volunteers for all that they do.
There are nearly 13 million Canadian volunteers (wow!) who commit themselves for hours upon hours and give their hard work, sweat and tears to make our communities and our country a better place to live.
Thank you all so much!!!
