Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Grant to help low-to-median-income Canadian households transition to reliable electric heat pumps instead of expensive home heating oil.
Delivered BEFORE installation, the grant will provide eligible homeowners with up to $5,000 to cover costs including:
- the purchase and installation of an eligible heat pump
- electrical upgrades required for the new heat pump
- the safe removal of the oil tank
Plus, homeowners can combine this grant with existing funding from federal, provincial, and utility programs!
Oil heat is getting more and more expensive and we’re doing everything we can to help folks in Nova Scotia transition to more energy efficient heating, like heat pumps. On average, homeowners who switch from oil to cold-climate heat pumps to heat their homes would save between $1,500 and $4,700 per year on home energy bills.
