Nova Scotia’s strength comes from our community. And I have no doubt that Nova Scotians, and folks across Canada will come together to support one another through this tragedy.

Tonight, April 24th at 7:00pm, please tune into #NovaScotiaRemembers – a tribute for those we lost. The program will stream online, and will be broadcast on many TV and radio stations. You can find them listed here: https://heartcolchester.ca/

My heart aches for those affected by this senseless act of violence. And although we can’t come together in person for this tribute, know that Nova Scotians are with you in spirit. It’s who we were before this, and it’s who we are now.

To the employees and members of the RCMP:

Thank you for your bravery and efforts during the violent events of April 18th and 19th. Each and every one of you play an integral role in keeping us safe.

And I know that the loss of Cst. Heidi Stevenson will especially have a deep and lasting impact on you. I want you to know that we are here for you, as you’ve always been there for us. Thank you for the work you do every day.

Folks, together we will get through this. And please don’t forget that you can be #NovaScotiaStrong, and still ask for help. It’s okay to not be okay.
