February 24, 2021 · Dartmouth, Nova Scotia · Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)

Investing in innovative Atlantic Canadian companies will protect jobs, keep businesses running and keep the economy going. That is why the Government of Canada is supporting Ace Machining, a Dartmouth machine shop and manufacturing facility that pivoted during the COVID-19 pandemic to create new products while continuing to serve existing customers.

Enlarging production facility enables company to hire new workers

Darren Fisher, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Dartmouth – Cole Harbour, on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages, today announced a repayable contribution of $668,500 to Ace Machining to expand its production facility.

The project will double the size of the company’s shop floor, expand its Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operations and its fabrication ability. The extra space will enable Ace Machining to produce more custom made goods to meet growing demand, boost its revenue and hire up to 20 more people over five years.

Today’s announcement further demonstrates the Government of Canada’s commitment to help these businesses grow, reach new markets, drive innovation and contribute to Atlantic Canada’s economic recovery.”
