On the anniversary of Victory in Europe (V-E) Day we remember the more than 45,000 Canadians and Newfoundlanders who fought side by side and died during the Second World War.
75 years ago today, crowds of people filled the streets in Allied nations around the world, celebrating the end of almost 6 years of war in Europe.
Today, Veterans Affairs Canada is streaming a commemorative ceremony featuring Veterans stories, messages from dignitaries, and the traditional moment of silence to commemorate all those who served and sacrificed for the liberation of Europe.
