Good news for McNabs Island!

Our Government delivered $50,000 to help rebuild the Timmins Cove Trail — a key route to sites such as the Teahouse Outdoor Education Centre, the Hugonin-Perrin English Gardens, the Findlay Farm, and other trails on the island.

Unfortunately, the Timmins Cove Trail was badly damaged by Hurricane Juan back in 2003 and remained inaccessible to most users. After this long hiatus, reconstruction of the trail is nearly complete!

After so many years, it’s wonderful to see this project finally coming together thanks to the dedication of passionate volunteers and community partners.

Huge thanks to the Friends of McNabs Island Society — incredible stewards of this island for decades — as well as Halifax Regional Municipality and the Province of Nova Scotia for working together to restore access and preserve this special place.
