Great to have Minister Ahmed Hussen in Dartmouth today to announce more affordable housing for Dartmouth—Cole Harbour!

Our Government is investing $3.7 Million through the Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI) to help the Affordable Housing Association of NS build new housing units on True North Crescent in Dartmouth for those who need it the most!

We know that investing in truly affordable housing like these residences at True North Crescent, strengthens Dartmouth—Cole Harbour, our province, and our country.

Today’s announcement means that early in the New Year, new residents will be able to call Dartmouth’s True North Crescent, home—this is very good news.

And although seeing another amazing affordable housing development like this in Dartmouth, is good news, it’s not lost on me that too many folks in our community are chronically unhoused. Folks are sleeping outside, sleeping rough, and deserve a home that meets their needs too.

That’s why supporting projects like True North Crescent, that help the chronically unhoused, is so important.

All orders of government need to work together and need step up to help those most vulnerable in our community.

I think we can all agree that everyone deserves a safe place to live, a place that provides comfort and stability, a place to call home.
