JUST ANNOUNCED: Our Government is investing $47.5 million in the Port of Halifax!
Between the numerous cold storage facilities in Burnside and Woodside, to the Atlantic Gateway Logistics Park, and our numerous small businesses exporting to international markets- the Port of Halifax is crucial to our economy in Nova Scotia!
With the increasing popularity of large ultra-class vessels, and the upcoming Cogswell Interchange project, the Port of Halifax needed to find a way to handle the increased cargo while getting the truck traffic out of the downtown core.
Our Government’s $47.5 million investment includes:
Improvements to the rail system, so containers can move from the South End Terminal, to Fairview Cove through the existing rail cut!
Upgrades to the Windsor Street Exchange, to ease traffic congestion, & improve the safety and reliability of transporting goods to international markets.
The creation of around 800 jobs during construction.
