Dartmouth—Cole Harbour has lost a truly special resident — Retired Naval Officer and Former RCMP member Gerry White.

Whether you knew him through service, the ANAF Veterans #349, the UN NATO Canadian Military Group, motorcycling, or at the many events he volunteered at in our community—I know that so many of you have beautiful stories and memories to share about Gerry.

Personally, like so many you, I always knew that if needed, Gerry would always step up to help — like when he laid a wreath on our behalf for Remembrance Day in Cole Harbour. A true honour to have him there.

And let me tell you, his positive attitude was infectious, you couldn’t help but smile listening to him.

Gerry was a dear friend and I’ll miss listening to his stories and sharing a laugh or two over a beverage.

My thoughts go out to his loved ones, especially the love of his life, Jane.
