The Halifax Regional Municipality will receive $8.7 MILLION for affordable housing through the New Rapid Housing Initiative (Major Cities Stream)!
This is super news for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour. And I want to stress that this is just ONE stream out of the $55 billion National Housing Strategy.

 

The goal of the Rapid Housing Initiative is to help address urgent housing needs of vulnerable Canadians, especially in the context of COVID-19, through the rapid construction of affordable housing. Housing needs to be available within just 12 months of the funding agreement.

 

I can’t wait to see how the Municipality allocates this extremely important funding. We need to keep everyone safe during this pandemic, and in the future.
