Since we took office I’ve heard from Veterans in Dartmouth-Cole Harbour about the importance and need to reintroduce a Veteran’s Service Card.
The Government is Canada is listening. Yesterday Ministers Harjit Sajjan and Seamus O’Regan announced that the new Veteran’s Service Cards will be distributed to former and releasing Canadian Armed Forces members who completed basic training and have been honourably released.
As a Member of the Standing Committee on National Defence I’ve learned how important it is to help members transition from their service in the Canadian Armed Forces to post-service life, as smoothly as possible. This Card will provide a valuable link to Veterans Affairs Canada support programs and offer a recognition of their service to Canada.
