The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed many urgent needs for folks across Canada. One of these needs, is the importance of paid sick leave, so workers can stay home when sick, and still pay for the things they need!
We’ve all known someone, (or we’ve been that someone) who has gone to work sick because they couldn’t afford to lose the hours.
This week, the Prime Minister announced our government’s plan to work with the provinces and territories to bring 10 days of paid sick-leave for workers across Canada.
We need to bring common-sense and compassion into legislation whenever possible. And this initiative would do just that.
