Over the weekend we joined our community to remember and honour those who fought and those who sacrificed their lives during the Battle of the Atlantic in the Second World War.
While I attended the ceremony in Dartmouth’s Commodore Park, the Minister of Veteran’s Affairs, the Hon. Lawrence MacAulay attended the Halifax service at Point Pleasant Park.
Later on in the day I joined the Minister and my colleagues for a visit with Veterans at the Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Hospital.
It’s always an honour to meet with Veterans, to learn their stories, and to acknowledge all that they have given Canadians and those abroad.
And happy 101st birthday, Mrs. Guildford!
